Ripstik is VERY FunBy Lucas Wratschko (Virginia, USA)
I mainly just wanted to point out that this is nothing like a skateboard. The only things they have in common is that it rolls, and you stand on it. Also, I have never really skateboarded much, never snowboarded or surfed, and i really did master it in 2 days(and this included Christmas, so my parents wanted me inside, with relatives over, bla bla bla). Some people are like, "oh yeah, I mastered it, i can turn left, and even move my self forward". No. I could turn, go pretty fast, and barely fall off. I think that alot of people write their reviews just a day or two after they start using it. I have now had it, for more than 4 months, and have replaced my wheels once, but i think i will have to again soon. I ride everyday, always trashing it up from tricks. I guess i must ride it a little differently from most people or somthing. Also, hills are a breeze going up, but there is no way to stop yourself once you get going pretty fast when you're going down, so either make sure that the ground curves up at the bottom of the hill, so you dont run into a tree or somthing, or else carve down it, but you can still pick up speed doing this. Another thing is that balance really isnt an issue. When you learn to manuvre it fairly well, it's simple. Just start by going down a little hill, so that you can pay attention to the feel of it, instead of trying not to fall over. For instance, i have a pool in my backyard, and i can skate around it WHILE READING. I barley have to even pay attention to it anymore. The ripstik is a really, really fun thing to do, and i highly recommend it to anyone.
*Well, i guess i now said more that just about it not being like a skateboard, but as i got typing, i just figured, hey, why not just type everything i think about it*
